Sponsored by the French Government to study Fine Arts, he also has the chance to attend the Grande Chaumière Academy. In 1961, he is awarded the Fine Arts Diploma of Honour and eight years later, in 1969, Patxi Buldain decides to return to Spain. Unlike in Europe, where some of the greatest art galleries have disputed the honour of exhibiting his oil painting and sculptures for some twenty years, he learns that he is totally unknown to the Spanish public.
He moves into Huarte, a small town near Pamplona, where he has carried out his incessant work up to the present days. |
